Fianchetto Variation

1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4.Nf3 d6 5.g3 O-O

In most defenses to 1.d4, Black fights tooth and nail to prevent an early e4 by White. In the King's Indian, Black allows e4 and then hits back at the center.

Four Pawns' Attack

1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4.e4 d6 5.f4

Saemisch Variation

1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4.e4 d6 5.f3

Classical Variation
